Returning home after a 2-2 tie against George Washington last week, the Rams notched win #4 in last night’s game against La Salle University. With this loss, the Explorers fell to 0-2, leaving them at 6-6,(1-2-0 A-10). The game got off to a slow start, as the two teams went into halftime in a scoreless draw.
The Rams came through during the second half and were lead by senior Jorge Herranz, who scored VCU’s first goal of the night with an assist from junior Rafael Santos. VCU added to their lead 20 minutes later when senior Luc Fatton scored the second goal with an assist from sophomore Eli Lockaby.
Fatton is currently leading the Rams with five goals, followed by Herranz with four goals and five assists. Santos also helping his fellow Rams with three goals of his own, and two assists.
The Rams outshot La Salle 18-4, though La Salle had some good shots of their own. Junior goalkeeper Pierre Gardan was credited with one save and was able to maintain the clean sheet. With this win, the Rams improved to 4-5-3 (2-0-1 A-1) and now hold a four-game winning steak at home.
They are on the road this Saturday, October 15th at Duguesne University in Pittsburgh, PA. The boys return to Sportsbackers Stadium on October 19th where they take on the Saint Joseph’s Hawks at 7pm.
