VCU falls to UMass, hosts St.Louis Saturday
The UMass Minutemen successfully defended their home court Thursday night as they defeated VCU 69-63. The Minutemen received huge contributions from Donte Clark and Trey Davis, as they had 22 and 18 points respectively. UMass shot 58.8% from 3-point range, and went a perfect 7-for-7 in the first as they built a 43-32 lead heading into the half. Meanwhile, the Rams shot 25% from 3, but got 15 points a piece from both JeQuan Lewis and Korey Billbury. However that was not enough, as the Rams fell to 17-7 overall and 9-2 in the A-10. The Rams now trail conference leader Dayton by a half-game. The Rams host St. Louis on Saturday, while the Minutemen travel to Duquense on Valentine’s Day.
